You Choose...Your Life or Alcohol

Why do people drink alcohol? To get drunk? When your drunk you lose all control of yourself. Then you wake up the next morning not knowing what you did. Your have one heck of a headache, and then you throw up. One major hangover. It is not a pretty site.

When you drink excessivly, you lose. Especially if your the driver! About four or five years ago a friend of mine and I were going shopping. Along the way we saw a police officer waiting for emergency crews to come to a wreck. My friend was CPR certified so she stopped to see if she could help untill the paramedics got there. The paramedics finally arrived on the scene and we were allowed to go on our way. We later found out the people had been drunk. This we were sure of anyway. All you could smell was the combination of alcohol and gasoline from the wreck. There is one thing about this wreck though. My friend noticed there was a car seat ejected from the vehicle. Now before you go thinking there was a child in this wreck there is a chance the childern were left with a friend. We never heard anymore about this wreck. The one thing I assure you of is that is an image my friend and I will never forget.

This story, among I am sure, lots of other stories are commonly told. So why do people still drink in excess, especially if they are going to drive! The only reason I can think of is Peer Pressure. Friends that aren't really your friends telling you why not have one more drink. Are you trying to prove a point that you can be just like them?

Are you completly stupid? Wake up! one of these days it is going to be too late. There is not a good reason to drink to the point you do not know what you are doing and to just not care. Oh it is just one time. Well one time can kill you!! What are going to do then? Absolutly Nothing!

God gives you the choice to decide. So what are you going to do? Waste your life away or are yo going to say "NO".

Every time someone drinks and drives you are putting yourself and everyone around you in danger. Use your God given talent and put it to work. No one likes to see good talent wasted by such an addiction. Don't make yourself anothor story. Set your life straight.

Remember when you drink in excess you are wasting your life and hurting everyone around you, especially if children are involved.

Think about it. Which is more impotant to you.

Peer pressure and you actually get hooked - there is a physical (and I suspect spiritual) bondage and addiction - I was totally delivered and set free and know for sure. thanks for writing this piece. Marijo

That is so true. I myself found this out several years ago. Now the friends I thought were friends are not and the friends that are my friends still are.

I lost my father when I was one, cause of a drunk driver, he was crossing the street to go to the store and he was hit, and the guy drove on, i'm not gonna lie, I drink on occasion, but I will never-never-never drive, and I hope if my friends or family where in need of a sober driver they'd call, 33yrs without my real father hurts, and it could have been avoided, when you drink and drive your not just taking your life in your hands, your taking all those around you too
