With All Things Said...Never Give Up

In life there are many trials yet also many triumphs. With each trial we learn something new. In return that makes us stronger physically, mentally, and most defiantly spiritually. If you have children with disabilities or special needs like I do, this probably really hits home. In and out of hospitals, Dr. Offices, Thearpy, etc., each one has some kind of outcome, whether it is good, bad, or in between. With God's help and lots of prayer we know the outcome will only get better.

In my case I have found that I am usually not the only one going through trials. You have to remember things are not always as bad as they may seem. With my own childern there have been many occasions where I have had to tell myself that.

You see I have two daughters that have both had severe problems to handle. My oldest daughter has hydrocephlis ( which is fluid on the brain.) The result of this is surgery. Her doctor's had to put a shunt in her head. The shunt goes from the right side of her brain down to her stomach to let the fluid flow out of her body. This is so her head does not swell up and cause brain damage or worse. She had a wonderful team of doctors, from the Neurosurgen down to the Anastesioligist. It was time for her sugery. My husband and I were a nervous wreck. Lots of things going through our mind. We took that little baby back to prepare her for surgery and talked to the doctors ( the normal routine before surgery stuff). We all said a prayer before she went in. Just after we said the prayer the one thing I can remember that doctor saying was "If there are no futher question or concerns, with God guiding our hands will get this started." I was astonished that there was a doctor out there not taking credit for themselves, but giving all the credit to God!

A trial but yet a triump because there was faith and trust in God that all will go well. It is all in God's hands not ours. My daughter is now almost two years old and doing wonderful. All glory be to God.

With each trial though there is always a test of faith. You get tired, run down, emotional, and you quite frankly do not know what to think. Your faith starts running low. Your want to give up, but you don't. God really plays a big part in your life if you let Him.

Almost two years later I have another daughter. She is as beautiful as her sister. You see she was born haveing trouble breathing. She was put on a oxygen right after birth. She could not eat as well because of other issues. For three days there were no anwsers. The nurses, doctors, no one knew what was going on or what was going to happen. The three longest days of our life. My husband and I saw alot in those three days, but there was more to come. The whole time she did stay stable, but the doctor's still didn't know what was going on. Finally they decided to send her to a Children's Hospital. By then I had already put this child in God's hands. I was still extremly worried, but it was in God's hands. Two days after they said she has Respiratory Distress Syndrome. By that Saterday, all Glory be to God, they took her off the oxygen and she was able to breath on her own. The major worries were behind us for now. The next week or so that she was in the hospital we gave her a little Tender, love, and care. She came out of it just fine. We ended up taking her home with a few diagnoses. She was found to have a Translocation downsyndrome, Right ear hearing loss, and some swollowing issues.

I am not telling you this to make you feel sorry for me or my girls. You see these cases are not the worst cases by far. There is always someone worse off then you, even if yours seems really bad. Anyway my point in telling you this story is to never give up. With every trial there is a triump. It makes you stronger in your faith, if you let it. I know my faith and trust in God has grown and with each trial I grow closer to Him.

Always keep the faith because there is always a chance to make things better even if it seems hopeless. Put everything in God's hands the outcome is amazing. He will help you through all things. Never give up. There is no problem to big or to small for God to handle.

With God all things are possible!!!!
